About Mountain Top Ministries
Pastor Ken Reid
Introducing Pastor Ken... He loves the Lord Jesus Christ, his wife Charlotte, his family and his church family. Pastor Reid, known to many affectionately as “PK” (short for Pastor Ken), was born in Ontario, Canada in 1950. He grew up in a Christian home and is so thankful for his godly heritage. He attended a one room school house that had only one teacher for grades one through eight. Growing up on a farm, Pastor Ken spent a lot of time milking cows, hoeing corn and riding horses. He will never forget his first horse Rhubarb, who could run faster than the wind it seemed. Also growing up, he learned to play and to love music. Even today he still loves to play guitar, piano and sing. Throughout the years, he has composed several gospel songs.
At age fifteen, Ken left home and went 2,000 miles away to Saskatchewan, Canada. It was there that he re-dedicated his life to the Lord. At an early age he felt the calling on his life to preach and so now at fifteen, committed to follow through with that calling. He returned to Ontario to continue his schooling in Madoc, Ontario. After high school he entered Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ontario.
It was while Ken was in Saskatchewan that he met Charlotte, who he later married in 1971. After college, Ken and Charlotte responded to God’s call in 1972 and moved to Hanover, Pa. to accept a pastorate at the Hanover Brethren in Christ Church. They have been pastoring and church-planting ever since. In 1993 Pastor Ken began planning what is now Mountain Top Ministries. With very humble beginnings in the Reid’s two car garage, the church now has grown to hold 200 people. We have two services Sunday mornings, classes for all ages on Wednesday evenings, an active youth group, ladies’ group and so many activities.
Pastor Ken and Charlotte have two sons and four grandchildren – who they love to spend time with! In his spare time, Pastor Ken likes to do oil painting, driving his ‘Little Red’ 1964 Ford truck, or ‘going to the dogs’. He raises Beagles, trains, shows and competes with them. His Beagle Barn is lined with many trophies and awards that he has won with his champion dogs. You can also see other things roaming around the Reid’s yard – chickens, doves, pigeons and rabbits.
But, Pastor Ken’s greatest joy is preaching and leading souls to Jesus Christ. He desires to use his gifts to serve God and to encourage those he comes in contact with each day. To be a good example to others by living a godly and holy life style is what Ken and Charlotte strive to do. Preaching revival meetings and mission work is also close to Pastor Ken’s heart and one day, he would like to participate in missionary work in other countries ins some capacity.
Everywhere he goes, Pastor Ken tells others about the greatest gift of Jesus Christ and what you must do to be saved. He invites you to “Come and see us at Mountain Top Ministries and let us tell you more about our Jesus and what He can do in your life”.
Assistant Pastor Ron Parr
Pastor Ron and Missy Parr, both born, raised, educated, dated, married, raised two plus children right here in Pa. The first time I saw Missy in a movie theater I fell in love. I knew she would be my wife. It only took 3 more years to convince her to marry me. We have a son Benjamin and his wife Keira and this year they blessed us with a granddaughter. We also have a daughter Kim who is married to Kyle. Both our children have accepted Jesus. We have a home in Buchanan Valley for about 26 years. We not only have raised our children but many others have called this place their second home. We also have raised all kinds of animals. Goats, cows, emus, chickens, ducks, geese, horses, pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits, many birds and some I want to forget about.
At age 12 I felt Gods calling. Then at age 18, I experienced a family tragedy. It took me until I was 39 and then I could no longer resist the call of God. Missy and I took our children and a goat to Mountain Top Ministries Live indoor Nativity in December of 1996. We soon became a regular at church services and events. In April of 1997 we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Missy soon started singing in church and has expanded her singing to other churches and events. I became the youth teacher and then activities director. We have been involved in just about every event from the time we started.
The calling of God to pastor was still there for me. I needed to answer that call. Everywhere I went I felt as if the Lord was tapping his fingers and saying I am waiting. I started to study with The Pennsylvania Ministers Association. I soon was accepted and received my certification. I also received certification from Oral Roberts University. I am continually studying and expanding my education.
I find that leading someone to Jesus Christ is one of the greatest joys that anyone can receive. God has placed the gospel message into our hands to spread. What a powerful message and great responsibility. We have the power to alter someone’s eternal destination. I have a tough time understanding why someone would not want to receive this wonderful free gift. The only thing to loose is sin. I ask people, you have tried it your way all your life, how is that working? Now let the Lord take over.
Missy has been supporting and working beside me all the way. She has a champion’s heart to sing and work for the Lord. She is a great prayer warrior. Through prayer we have seen the grace and mercy of the Lord. Missy and I have a lot more to tell. Just ask us about our JESUS!

Our mission is to build a community of believers who worship and obey God and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all people.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe that salvation is by grace alone and is experienced solely through faith in the merits of Christ on behalf of sinners. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved are given the resurrection of eternal life and those that are without Christ are lost to eternal separation from God in Hell. We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
